In a few simple steps, integrate the enterprise email infrastructure using the Mobile Email Management (MEM) configuration wizard.

MEM cannot be overridden at a child organization group and can only be configured at a parent organization group. Using a single or multiple Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) profile, one MEM configuration can be associated.

  1. Go to Email, navigate to Settings, and then click on Configure.
  2. The deployment model has to be selected, and then choose the email type. Click on Next.
  3. The email type has to be selected if Proxy is the deployment model.
  4. Following choices are available:
      1. HCL Notes
      2. Google
      3. Exchange
  5. The email type has to be selected if Direct deployment is the deployment model.
  6. Following choices are available:
      1. Google App using Password Provisioning – Select Without Password Retention or With Password Retention as the Gmail Deployment Type.
      2. Google App with Direct API
      3. Exchange
  7. For the chosen deployment type, provide the details.
  8. Following choices are available:
    1. For SEG deployments:
      1. A friendly name has to be entered for this deployment.
      2. The SEG proxy server details have to be provided.
    2. For PowerShell deployments:
      1. A friendly name has to be provided for this deployment.
      2. The details of the PowerShell server have to be provided, authentication, and sync settings.
    3. For Gmail:
      1. A friendly name has to be entered for this deployment.
      2. The details of the Gmail settings, Gmail Directory APIs Integration, authentication, and SEG proxy settings have to be provided.
  9. A template EAS profile has to be provided with the MEM deployment and click on Next.
  10. A template EAS profile has to be created for this deployment.
    1. New template profiles have to be published manually and not published to devices automatically. From the Profiles page, the admin can publish profiles to the device fleet.
    2. (Optional) In case more than one MEM deployment is to be customized, associate an existing profile to this deployment at a single organization group.
  11. The configuration details are shown on the MEM Config Summary page.
  12. The settings are saved.
  13. The admin can add the advanced settings, once saved, to this deployment.
    1. Corresponding to your deployment, select the Advanced icon.
    2. As per demand in the Mobile Email Management Advanced Configuration page, configure the available settings for the user mailboxes.
    3. Save the settings

Note:

  • Mutually exclusive user groups can be created in the scenario of connecting multiple PowerShell environments to the same Exchange server.
  • Different domains can be used in the configuration when multiple Gmail environments are connected.
  • With appropriate settings, SEG and PowerShell integration can be considered to connect to the same email environment only during migration of MEM deployments. Workspace ONE Support guides the admin with this implementation.
