Introduction
Cloud Computing is the practice of using remote servers on the internet for carrying out a task rather than using your own computer/servers. Google cloud computing, offered by Google, is a suite of cloud computing services that runs on the infrastructure that Google uses internally for its end-user products, such as Google Search, Gmail, and YouTube. Google Cloud runs on the same global infrastructure that powers YouTube, Gmail, and other Google products used by many people around the world. Learn about Google Cloud’s approach to infrastructure and implementing, deploying, migrating, and maintaining applications.
What is Google Cloud Global Infrastructure?
This infrastructure refers to the global presence of data centers, networking, and cloud resources available to the customer. Google has one of the most powerful infrastructures in the world. You can view all the locations here.
Infrastructure Levels
The infrastructure is available on two levels:
Physical Infrastructure
The physical infrastructure consists of:
- Datacenters – Extensive deployment of high-efficiency backend datacenters.
- Backbone Network – Global, meshed redundant backbone network.
- Pints of Presence – 110+ edge points of presence in more than 200 countries.
- Edge caching – Edge caching platform at the periphery of the network.
Abstract Infrastructure
The abstract infrastructure is divided into global, regions, and zones. Today, instantaneous on-demand access to cloud computing services, including data processing, storage, and applications like customer relationship management systems, is possible.
Features of Google cloud Global Infrastructure
Google Cloud Platform is a modular-based platform providing various build and scale services to organizations of any size within any industry. It offers tools and services for document storage, data warehousing, security key enforcement, app creation, API management, AI and machine learning, live chat, and more. Our network architecture and data centers are built for optimal uptime and dependability. To ensure robust built-in redundancy and application availability, your workloads are securely spread over various geographies, availability zones, ports of presence, and network cables.
Why choose Google Cloud Platform?
Google Cloud Allows Quick Collaboration. Many users are able to contribute to, and access projects simultaneously as data is collected and saved in the cloud instead of on their computers. Google’s Investments in Security Protect Customers: Customers benefit from process-based and physical security investments made by Google. Google matches 100% of the energy consumed by our global operations with renewable energy purchases, so every Google Cloud product you use has zero net carbon emissions. And our hyper-efficient data centers use 50% less energy than most systems.
Conclusion
In contrast to the Cloud Platform, Google offers other cloud services. Microsoft Office 365 was in competition with G Suite, a set of productivity and teamwork software. A platform for creating both mobile and online applications is called Firebase. However, Google has significantly increased its attention on hybrid and multi-cloud workloads utilizing Anthos, enabling customers to manage workloads on GCP and Google Kubernetes Engine as well as on AWS and Azure. Google Cloud Platform is largely a public cloud provider. It helps many users and makes their work easier and less time-consuming.
